Japanese restaurants thrive in Hong Kong. Sushi, sashimi, robatayaki, ramen ... you name it, and if it's Japanese, we love it.
The beverage of choice for Japanophile gastronomes is usually a mass-produced Japanese beer or sake. In the latter half of 2010 though, the Hong Kong Japanese restaurant-goer has been treated to some newer, rather more interesting boutique productions of both.
Sakesan
At Sakesan, a new bar and restaurant scheduled to open in mid-December, six eye-catching bottles have been snagged from Baird Brewery, an interesting example of the Ji-biru or regional beer movement in Japan.
